You need to shorten that rear brake cable outer - that bend is waaaay too much - I couldn't find anything else wrong with your bicycle pose so I had to give you real advice.

Back to the OP, I've found myself riding sportive routes accidentally, it just happened that the route I'd mapped out for myself used the same nice roads as the one the organisers had chosen. We came close to doing a sportive earlier in the year, but I baulked at the price to basically go and ride some roads I could just go and ride whenever I fancied anyway, again the food stops etc. don't appeal and I wouldn't rely on someone else to have the stuff I needed to deal with a mechanical at the right time I had one anyway. There is one on Sunday that we might do, my wife fancies having the challenge set for her but it depends on how we feel on the day, especially as I'll have ridden home from Brighton on the Saturday...

I guess I would only pay for a closed roads one, like the Great Manchester Cycle.
That's why I felt fine paying for Ride London. I wouldn't be considering this weekend if my wife wasn't interested in doing it. I'm yet to see the pleasure in riding with a load of strangers, I'll get my group riding with the Fridays thanks (that's just riding with a load of strange :-) )
