Saw a chap today riding a motorbike, and on the back, fixed to a rack, was a bicycle!

It seem to be fixed by the front fork (and braced to prevent the frame flopping from side to side), with the front wheel removed, so the bike was flying along fixed lengthwise behind the rider.

Is that a standard sort of rack, or a home made deal? Never seen one like it before!

I was in Ireland once, and saw a chap bringing his little daughter home from school.

She was riding in the front bucket of his JCB!

Looked rather fun!

Do I need to get the spray plaster out?

Yes, that's it!

Is it off the shelf then? I wondered how often motorbikers want to carry bikes, wouldn't have thought it was a huge market. Not that bikers don't cycle, but how many of those that do, want to carry a bike somewhere on the motorbike?

When I was 5, my neighbour used to occasionally pick me up from school on his Lambretta, and I'd stand on the footboard, his arms either side, reaching the handlebars, and stopping me falling off.
No bicycles were involved though.

I picked my twin girls up from school today in the front basket of a 1940s small wheeled trades bike. We get a few funny looks...
