Do you think it is a scheme that is worth doing if they com your way?

Anyway, I am always on for a freebie and all it cost me was a couple of rides up a very, very steep hilll. [...]
And it cost you handing your personal data and bike details to a company that has sneaky marketing!

Avoid, and ask your police commissioner why the force has so many spare officers that they can work for a private company for free.

Note your own frame numbers and take photos, then let the police have the info for NICHE if a bike is ever stolen, as @Drago said.

IDK. I understand if your bike is stolen, found and returned (regardless of condition) insurance companies could decline to pay out.

For me in London I've got 2 Bike Register stickers on my cheapo single speed. It's just another small thing to dissuade a thief if I lock it outside Brixton tube. Never had one stolen.

I'd never lock up a bike worth more than £500 in London.
