Is the Carrera Intercity Disc 9 a significantly better ride than the Disc 8?

I found the QR pedals helped. I've had no problem stashing it on train or tube, or tucking it between or behind my knees when sat down. Compared to the suitcases some folk seem to like on the train its a minuscule package to handle.

I keep being tempted by ID 8s/9s that pop up on eBay but I wonder how often I would actually use one. I spend 8-10 weeks a year down in Devon but I have a spare bike permanently stationed here. If I go to Scotland to visit my Highland family, my cousin lends me one of his road bikes and/or a mountain bike. I would probably do a maximum of 1 week a year elsewhere and it seems hardly worth buying another bike in case some of those holidays are not handy for transporting bikes. (I don't drive so I usually go away by train.)
