Is the Carrera Intercity Disc 9 a significantly better ride than the Disc 8?

Looks like the stem and steerer wouldn't be a straight swap over but where there's a way there's a get around.

Anyway both are all clipped back together and hopefully the red one will be out at crack of dawn for a few miles 😁

I was just checking Halfords for any news of the hydraulic Intercity 2 folder coming back into stock (no), but they had a limited stock of ID8s (8-speed mechical disc brakes) found down the back of the sofa for £380.

I'm still baffled why the Intercity 1 and 2 are quoted as 15Kg vs ID8/9 ~13Kg. Apparently the newer model has steel vs alloy fork, chunkier in-house frame vs Polygon Urbano, rack and stand attached... That explains it.

I measured my ID9 at the 11.5 metricgrams mark, rather lighter than the advertised spec.
