Is the Mio Cyclo 505 HC any good?

I have one and it depends what you want it for. From a navigation perspective it's way ahead of Garmin but it is limited in mapping, and you can't add custom maps. Also it has fewer options for data fields compared to Garmin. For example it doesn't record temperature despite having a set sensor.

That said I love mine and have no intention of replacing it any time soon.

One aside the out front mount is slightly different from Garmin mounts so if you plan on getting one then make sure you get a compatible one. The stock mount is not brilliant.

I've been using a Mio Cyclo 315 for about 18 months now and really like it.

Nice large, bright screen and now also has Strava segments after the latest software update.

I have 1 its very good only 2 things that lets it down for me is battery life i regular ride for 8 hours plus 8 hours seam about the limit for me but other say they get longer battery life and in the rain the screen mist up which takes about 4 or 5 days to clear again doesn't seam to effect all units but i have read others mention it

I used to have one but the screen packed up. Also it was awful in the rain, anything heavier than a light shower and the touch screen used to go nuts. The Mio version of Strava had no privacy settings on it so anyone could see exactly were you lived and were you rode to

To be fair when it worked the mapping was great, it locked onto GPS really quickly and it was a lot lighter than my current Satmap.

they sorted those out privacy within strava works and rain don't affect touch screen now

Also I found it best to just keep a short screen lock time. Once it's going it's fine.

I run a battery pack in a top tube bag which extends the battery life to closer to 18 hours, and that's with a 2000mah capacity. I've got a 10000 which should keep it going for a multi day ride.

Ideally I'd want a dynohub for lights and GPS anyway
