Is the waterproof dog bed also pee proof?

My little dog now sleeps in my shower at night time, due to his incontinence. It's easier for me to put him in there so if he pees it's easy to wash away, unlike when he pees on my carpet! At the moment I'm buying Tesco polyester pillows for his bed which cost a fiver for two, so it's easier to just bin them than pay to wash them in the local laundry. I don't have a washing machine, so taking pee soaked cushions in a bag up to the laundry would be too much hassle, plus it's not fair to wash such things in public use washing machines. I'm now thinking of buying this supposed waterproof bed so I can simply wash it in the shower, along with my dog, then let it drip dry for the following night. I don't know if it'll be pee proof or just wet dog proof. Would it repel say half a pint of pee he might do in the middle of the night, till I got to wash the bed in the morning? If it wouldn't do, do any of you know of any genuine dog pee proof dog beds? Thanks in advance for any sensible suggestions!😉

The best stuff used to be "vetbed" https://vetbed.co.uk/

Used to be just a stiff blanket with s thick soft fleece on the stiffer fabric base. Available everywhere including the big national chain pet store. Different sizes but can be cut with scisors.

Very washable and pet doesn't have to lie in their pee.

But I lost my dogs a few years ago so maybe marketplace has changed.

Edit (addition): I used to use it not for pee issues but because it's easy to wash and dried quickly

No, as hopefully it'll run off onto the shower floor. If he does sleep in a puddle it's only the same as sleeping in a puddle of pee on a carpet, or worse a pee soaked dog bed, but much easier for me to clean up!

I can only talk about the product of a few years ago (the fluffy sheet, not the cushions on the 1st page on their web site) and no recent experience of what is made today. Stuff then was white and now"paw marks" printed to make it look "pet like".

Over carpetI'd put a sheet of plastic under it but it probably wouldn't puddle on it.

I never put mine through a washing machine, just rinse in bath or shower or hose in garden. You could add soap if needed.

Vets used to use it in their overnight "accommodation" and they don't want hard work cleaning it.

Pets At Home(?) used to sell it.

He's quite comfy in my shower by the way as with being a little dog he can move around, plus I put water and food down for him. I'm also going to buy a soft glow nightlight for the long winter nights, instead of leaving my bright bathroom ceiling light on. It's also warm in there as my bathroom radiator is left on slightly, plus the shower floor is quite warm due to the heat rising up from the flat below.

It was thick enough and absorbent enough to avoid that. Maybe bit like those weak bladder pads advertised on TV (for humans)

Ye, I dread the day I have to take him to be sent to that big kennel in the sky, but while he's still here I'll do the best I can for him! He's still feisty if not very active and he still has a good appetite which is a good sign.😉
