They are wider, but only by 5mm. There's that much adjustment on a rear QR.

i don't like 'em either (although being used to looks and then getting a dirt cheap pair of spds and shoes from lidl is probably not the best way to try them).

I've had no problems with the Lidl ones. Fit wasn't quite right, but that's because I was between sizes. The Lidl pedals are on the touring bike - I often use it for shopping, and cleats in sainsburys isn't the most comfortable 45 minutes.

i think the main problem is because the adjust screw is hidden by a reflector, which as it faces rearward i'm loath to smash off.

look's system is just so much better at putting all my effort into the pedal stroke, imho.
