Is there a best/correct way to hang decorative balls on a christmas tree ?

There is no formula except lights go on first.Then tinsel finally decorations,just hang them anyhow.

If you have 100, take the most distinctive colour baubles and make a rude word with them, then put other colours at random around these an see if anyone notices. If they do you can firmly blame "chance" and their filthy minds.

I was just about to suggest that. ^_^

One hundred baubles might be too many for that tree. Before they arrive, remove any that you do not like, for whatever reason. Hide those away and forget where you put them. :scratch:

I would then purchase (or make) some mince pies or other seasonal edibles, and put the kettle on.
Decorating the tree together should be fun!

After they have gone, feel free to rearrange it if you prefer. I would not bother with lights, they are a big faff, and get all in a tangle.
