that the admin might allow a small E-bike forum?

I`m basically a cyclist, I`m using an electric bike to A. get myself up to some sort of fitness (using assisted pedalling) and B. I choose to either use my E-bike or my Evans MTB depending on the route and terrain I intend to take.

I`m not getting any younger but a bit of assistance has allowed me to leave the car at home and just enjoy cycling around the country lanes where I live.

To be perfectly honest I have joined an electric bike forum but it ain`t like this web site "cycle chat" that is a hell of a lot more friendly and because I`m basically a cyclist at heart and not an electrician I`d just love it if there were somewhere on here to chat to like minded cyclists.

What do you think Mr Administrator? any chance?

Please don`t flame me! I`m only asking:girl:

I'm sure that Admin (Shaun) will consider any reasonable request and to me this is reasonable. Why not send him a PM and ask the question!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

There will be certain fees and expenses involved. Send me £1000 (pounds Sterling one thousand) by money transfer and I will ensure you get your special forum.

I think Special Interests could be the place for now. If there's enough interest, then maybe a subforum could be set up within that - but remember the kerfuffle over a classic bikes section - Special Interests seems to work well enough for that.

Too many small sections can clutter the forum up a bit, that's all....

But see what Admin thinks, he's usually always right.

This looks like an excellent idea . As I think I've posted before, my FiL, after his stroke, switched to an electric trike, it helped to keep him in touch with being in the saddle, late in life when he could no longer either balance nor did he have the strength to pedal. It boosted his morale no end. Any of us on this forum may one day come to such a pass.

Whilst they've becoming more popular, I don't think we have enough chat about Electric Bikes at the moment to warrant a completely separate sub-forum.

As with the Classic Bikes forum idea, I'm not averse to creating a new forum, but if you could use Special Interests for now we'll keep an eye on it and gauge interest.

If there are a reasonable number of threads over the coming months I'll look at creating a new Electric Bikes forum.

Cheers,
Shaun

That`s fair comment Shaun. I did have a rethink and to be quite honest quite a lot of things I `ve needed a few pointers on have related to bike parts in general or road use and I`ve always had good response from the forums that are already here because 90% of even an E-Bike is just normal bike parts and/or common sense.
This is a great friendly site BTW with lots of interesting topics and I`m really glad I found it. I think as time goes by there might well be an increase in electric bike users and as you say it can be reviewed further down the line.
Thanks for considering it.
