The reason is simple. My wife wants to go to Chester for a bit of shopping, so, as not to upset her, I must forgo my ride which would take a couple of hours. By the time we are back from Chester, it will be nearly dark so no good for me. I don't ride in the dark. Oh well, I hope the weather will be kind during the week.

Afraid i don't do shopping, unless it's online , with two daughters and the wife has two sisters she has plenty of shopping companions. Hopefully my wife doesn't read this ;)

i am almost always excused from shopping and all my shopping i do online
such as why is it i currently have 4 tabs open looking at hydraulic bits and bobs for tractors on ebay!
and i have an agricultural metal work supply catalogue open next to me on the page showing all the hurdles and gates

that's my idea of shopping!
Cheers Ed

Even though my husband doesn't cycle (anymore), I never ask him to go shopping with me.
The most we do together is the food shop or a wander through town together, ending up in Costa

I know how much he hates it and as Christmas approaches I do most of my shopping online anyway. I hate the crowds

To be fair, I don't usually do shopping but Chester is 45 miles away from here and my wife doesn't like driving that far. She only drives short distances , normally within 10 miles of home because she hates driving.

I always have the last word in our house.

It's usually, "yes, dear."

I am the same, I do think people have become more ignorant these days, and no consideration for anyone else. When I go shopping, I'm out early before the shops get busy, or shop online.
It's so commercial now.
I enjoy putting up decorations and having a nice lunch and a box of chocolates while watching evening tv, but to be honest, I'd rather the weather was nice enough for a long Christmas day ride
I've even threatened the two boys with a take out this year as my hubby won't be here, my daughter has just moved in with her boyfriend, so it's just me and a 20yr old and a 14yr old, both of whom like to hibernate in their rooms!
