it's admissions time again...

i've just applied online for my youngest son's place at primary school next year (we was born 5 hours too late for this year ).

it's the school his brother and sister go/went to; we're lucky that the oversubscription criteria has changed to favour siblings this year.

should be a dead-cert (we live 5mins walk away), but i know that many parents will be going through what can be a tortuous process while we sit back. having been through the whole high school appeals bit myself, i feel for all those less fortunate than us…

At least he gets a head start on some of his class mates.

I was always aggrieved being a summer (ish) baby that I had class mates who were almost a year older than me. It didn't seem fair somehow.

My daughter and her friends are all summer babies, and all amongst the brightest in their year...
