Why does the van driver have an issue with you riding that far out? The road is wide enough for perfect overtakes without even going onto the other side of the road. Just like every other vehicle that overtakes you in that clip.

I suspect that the van driver knows you. Saw you where there, made a comment so you would post the video on youtube and then started posting comments on your video under MrMentalProblems

I understand not using the cycle lane, I do not bother with the few in Swindon as the road surface is rough as nails and all the debris from the road is swept onto them.

Hopefully the company he drives for has either a zero tolerance for their drivers or a boss who cycles to work.

I would do the same as you along there. Our cycle lanes in Hull/East Riding are fairly ok (the ones I've used) during the bad weather they were unusable anyway but I found that the other road users were so much more patient and considerate than normal, the council are slowly clearing them all of excess gravel and filling in the pot holes caused by the bad weather.

For those of you who dislike white vans, I really hacked one off the other day and didn't even need my bike, just me, 5 dogs (not a good image for dog owners though) and a fenced in school lane with children and parents walking on it, he just couldn't get past until I crossed the road at the top and oh joy that was blocked by all the parents driving the correct way to school.
