Well, this Sunday is Advent Sunday, so it is really the Christmas season even if you are against the commercialisation.

the fast traditionally entails fasting from red meat, poultry, meat products, eggs, dairy products, fish, oil, and wine. Fish, wine and oil are allowed on Saturdays and Sundays, and oil and wine are allowed on Tuesdays and Thursdays, except in the Ethiopian Orthodox Tewahedo Church.

You're thinking Easter. All the major Christian sects celebrate on the same day.
The eastern churches start up with a traditional 40 day fast. I assume Greek office parties are a little dull.

My sister's niece's mum has had to put up their Christmas tree because the niece (who is two) has been harassing her so much after seeing some decorations and 'knows' something is coming.
At that age it is a bit cute, but any older, less so.
