I sat in the bath and concluded I should have posted this one instead, thanks for the nudge.

That's got to be close to a forum banning offence.

Imagine if your birthday was on Boxing Day. Or Christmas eve. Yayyyy, looking forward to that. It's not going to be overshadowed by any other celebration is it? Imagine if it was on New Years Eve!

Mine is on 29th December, which is a bit of a no-man's land in the calendar. I don't really do birthdays though, so it doesn't bother me. We usually do something as a family on my birthday, eg go to the theatre, but that's more because it's a convenient arbitrary excuse to go out than to celebrate my birthday per se.

And the capitalist 'holidays' are getting more often these days as marketing types dream up more occasions for us to spend. Halloween is huge now, then fireworks, then there's this thing called black Friday that's been invented to scare consumers into thinking they might miss out on a great bargain. And three days after Christmas it will be Easter eggs in the shops. Then mothers day etc etc. Eventually every week of the year will have some kind of nonsense occasion associated with it that we'll all be guilt tripped into spending our hard earned. HUMBUG!

It's funny that people feel obliged to spend a fortune to celebrate Christmas, just because there's some poxy advert on the telly featuring a dog on a trampoline, but don't feel obliged to go to church. Maybe the church should employ some of the marketing geniuses who come up with these manufactured capitalist holidays if they want to halt falling attendances.

What make & model of cooker? And what about leftovers!

Miele, I can't say I know the model. The Oven had some sort of problem so I've had to replace it with a cheap oven, but to be fair we haven't had any trouble with it - at a sixth the price or whatever, I'm struggling to justify the Miele option there.

Leftovers: chocolate, cheap chocolate, a whole ham, and more chocolate, tends to be our remains with me sweeping up and feeling sicker as the days pass.

I might have a crack at preparing something myself, but it would have to be two days before as the Mrs kicks me out of the kitchen about 9am Christmas Eve.

It's christmas when my daughter has performed Santa Claus Is Coming To Town in Bromley Centre.

Which she did.

Today.

:wahhey:

Time to order the mince pies and brandy.
