I'm ashamed to say mine has just gone on. I'm working at home and was utterly frozen. Perhaps not helped by the fact I was still in my thinnish cotton pyjamas

Ours has come on a little first thing in the morning, just a little bit.

That brings back some unwelcome memoires of single glazed windows with metal frames - they seemed permanently ice covered inside and out in winter.
Wooden frames for us in NWales was fecking cold when I was a kid.(only for a few years)

Still not on here

We've been running the gas fire in the living room in the evenings and had the central heating on first thing in the morning and last thing at night.
We play 'hide the thermostat' - it's a wireless one and you can allegedly put it in the airing cupboard if you don't want the heating to come on.
Our central heating is on manual, we can turn the boiler up or down, its on the frost setting at the moment, but the thermostats are on the radiators.

I bit the bullet in January and had our windows replaced, they were wood framed double glazing and knackered!. Put up with them for 10 years. Looking forward to winter with the nice new windows and smaller heating bills!.

Mrs ND "changed the bed" at the weekend, swapping the super lightweight 3.5 tog summer duvet (which has been fine up to press) for an "all seasons" one, due to the impending drop in temperatures.
Blimey it's heavy - I can barely turn over in bed!

Still no heating on mind - sat here with the window open, enjoying the fresh air.
