Mrs ND "changed the bed" at the weekend, swapping the super lightweight 3.5 tog summer duvet (which has been fine up to press) for an "all seasons" one, due to the impending drop in temperatures.
Blimey it's heavy - I can barely turn over in bed!

Still no heating on mind - sat here with the window open, enjoying the fresh air.

Blimey ND, you must be tough. I'm guessing the outdoor temps for us are not dissimilar. Even I've bobbed the heating on every now and then in the past couple of weeks. 5 degrees outside first thing = heating most deffo on

An almost tropical 12 degrees C here today. If it carries on like this I'm going to have to get the sun cream out...

MrsPete was most aggrieved that the lounge radiator didn't warm up when she put the heating on last night. As I was a hundred miles away at the time, I couldn't help..
Oh well, I did have the truck heater set on 'slightly warm' so it wasn't a problem

Our shower is playing up. i can't turn the temp' down it's like being in a cross between a shower and a sauna. When i get out i have to make a dash downstairs and stand outside for 5 minutes otherwise i'll start peeing sweat and defeat the object of having a shower. 5 minutes after this i'm sat over an electric heater nearly freezing.

Fire has been lit/on five times since it was bought.
When they fitted it.
When we'd to get someone out to refit it.
Yearly service, by local engineer.

Other than the windows are open all year.

Still wearing shorts when out on the bike and around the house. Just started wearing jeans rather than shorts for going into town.

Saw one guy cycling in shorts yesterday. The rest varied from thermal/cycling top & longs but no gloves (me) to full on winter warrior; full gloves, buff, overshoes...the lot. What are these folk going to do when it actually gets cold?

Heating's on for an hour each morning and evening now. I work from home so when it gets a bit chilly in the afternoon I pop a sweater on. Having said that I'm in a t shirt now
