The driveable par 4 for example was set up that way because it was felt the Americans were generally better with a wedge in their hands. Pretty much how it worked out with Tommy dropping a bomb straight on there to claim the half required.

Yes I can see and agree with you.
Maybe the commentator gave the wrong impression (or I simply got it wrong).

Possibly because home advantage seems to make such a big difference that it’s becoming almost impossible to win an away series.
And the fans behaviour does seem to be getting worse on both sides.

I have many US golfing pals. They are all worried about the behaviour of the New York supporters at Bethpage, next time out.


Also it plays just about as longest of any of the major Venues. Likely oto be a lot fewer Birdies and Eagles.
We'll see.
