Garden was full of goldfinches this morning, heard a woodpecker drumming in the woods for the first time this year and the car park was full at the local dog walking spot. The sun is shining and there's no wind - it must be spring.

Well, the waitress at my cake stop this afternoon said it was warm out, and after 35 miles I could agree with her - it was - so yes, I can believe that spring is almost here. The roads have dried up a bit, the verges are a bit greener, there's less mud about, my lawn could stand a cut, the trees are beginning to bud. Done over 100 miles this week on the Defy and not had to de-clog the front brakes of mud and cowsh!t. (and 40 miles on the 'bent).

Yup, I reckon spring's about here. Yippee!

The forecast for tomorrow says it will be plus 1 degree, which I guess is a start, not a very brave one bit a start. It was minus 21 including wind chill factor yesterday so he's hoping.

The clocks go forward next week. The part timers will then take their bikes out of hibernation and hog the cycle lanes!
