I've worn a kilt many times, either hired or borrowed, but I've always wanted my own one. They cost too much though but one day.

Mind you, I'd love a giant rabbit costume too...

What type of kilt pattern are you meant to wear if you don't have a 'clan'? e.g. you are Asian or Chinese or English? Or shouldn't us lot be wearing them?!

Something I have often fancied I must admit. I have Scottish ancestory and my clan is Wallace. Would I need to buy a ladies step through frame to cycle in it?

There may be a market for Black Watch, but it ain't exactly hi-viz, unless you add a few Scotchlite strips.......

You can get tweed with a reflective yarn woven in from these guys, maybe they could do kilts too...

I wore a kilt once. It was a Uni society 'come as a member of the opposite sex' party, so I came as a Scotsman, on the grounds it was the only time they'd ever see me in a skirt. I complimented the kilt with a rugged aran sweater, and an improvised sporran made out of a leather purse.

Very liberating it was, and a bit draughty.

If you go into one of the tacky tourist kilt shops in Edinburgh I guarantee you'll discover that you belong to one! Even if the only Scottish blood in your family is your Highland Terrier they'll still hook you up.

There two types people in the world, those who are Scots and those who want to be Scots...
