Ironically I agree with the sentiment most people have got chargers falling out of cupboards and drawers every time you open them, so keep costs down by not supplying one, but...iirc even my wife's S23 came with a usb to usb-c lead. Her new S25 comes with a usb-c to c lead...so you have to buy another charger with c outlet. Huh...

As stared up post, there's fast chargers and fast chargers.
2a used to be fast, now 3a seems to be the norm. Personally I try to use a standard slow charger overnight, while battery technology has moved on, fast charging USED to be detrimental to battery life, I don't know if it still is so err on the side of caution and stay low amperage.

Next time its raining, and I've run out of things to do, I'm going to get my cables out and work out which ones are the super fast and which are not. It seems like pot luck when I use them how fast it charges.

No, you don't have to, you could just buy a USB-C to USB-A connector, but, I agree most people will probably just buy a new charger

I spent a fair amount on changing wall sockets around the house to ones with 3.1A USB A sockets. Now no-one wants a USB A. I have yet to find a good socket with two or three USB Cs though

Phones these days have lots of battery management built in so it shouldn't really affect the battery.

I used these off Amazon https://www.amazon.co.uk/dp/B09GNF3QK8?ref=ppx_yo2ov_dt_b_fed_asin_title. They have a USB-A and a USB-C. There may well be a double USB-C version now. I have had them installed for 4 years now, fingers crossed, no problems. I aware you have to be cautious with USB sockets, one of my drinking pals had several installed (by a "qualified" electrician) but, has had several problem with sockets tripping the mains circuit breaker.

There are 2 USB-C versions on Amazon, of that Brand. Even this one with 2 USB-C and 1 USB-A, but, not same brand
not bothered by brand. I might get me some of those :-) Then I can work on replacing the bathroom light switch with something that stops my daughter leaving it on...

Good luck with that one! 😂

Remove switch and replace with motion sensor MIGHT do it, but, I wouldn't bet on it. 😂

All I can recommend is to wait a few years, and, enjoy the pleasure of listening to your children, moaning about their children 😂

Yeah, I know the feeling. How many of us have found ourselves saying "it's like Blackpool illuminations round here"?

I was thinking some sort of IFTTT capable smart switch so it can only be turned on say up to one hour after sunrise and 1 hour before sunset. Or possibly some sort of geofence so if their mobile phones move out of the bathroom the light goes off...

There is that !
