Here goes another what bike thread

My c2w scheme has just kicked in and I'm looking at buyong a tourer. I think I've narrowed the choice down to three: -

• Dawes Horizon
• Ridgeback Voyage
• Dawes Vantage

Has anyone got any opinions on any of them? My previous experience of bikes is a Decathlon mtb and a Claud Butler Classic, so drop bars would be a step into the unknown to me. Also my previous bikes are both 6061Alu. Does Steel make that much difference as the Horizon seems almost identical spec to the Vantage other than the steel frame and is £250 more expensive?

Is the Dawes Karakum not up your street? The Voyage looks nice.

I did look at the Karakum, and it looks a very nice bike.

The reason I decided to have a look at drop bars was that I ride a very exposed commute (along the coast) which is almost always windy. Some of the people at work had suggested that drop bars allowed you to get down out of the wind a bit more.
