Guess what I got yesterday?

On the front wheel, tyre was pumped up quite abit. Knobbley tyres that aren't worn much at all. hmm

I used to get more than my fair share on my roadie, till I learned to pump my tyres up properly... haven't had one now since Feb last year (and yes, I have ridden it regularly  )
Haven't had one on the mtb for about 3 years now :becool:

exactly, bloody superstitious lot these cyclists, loads of them are pretty mechanically adept yet a puncture, another straight forward mechanical process, has them acting like something out of a bad Hammer horror film:tongue:

As rich p noted the other day, if you've had a load of punctures why use the asterisk - it ain't helping!!

Slime tubes and high pressures are your friends.

I used to get lots of punctures off-road, sometimes two or more per ride, then I changed to slime tubes and bumped up the pressures from 40'ish to 65psi. In three years since I've had one puncture due to a largish nail.

It's just too tight against the wheel. Whenever I try and push the tyre over the rim, I end up with a final section that seems almost impossible to push over the rim.

On the opposite side to this is it seated well down into the rim? (I'm presuming this is the same one that came off).
