Prince Charles is being shown round a new hospital in Edinburgh. He has a good tour of A&E, the X-Ray dept, the kitchens and a orthopaedic ward. He is then ushered through a set of double doors to find himself in a stark white ward.
As soon as he enters a man leaps from his bed, goes right up to the prince and with a stern expression shouts into his face:
"Then catch the moments as they fly,
And use them as ye ought, man:
Believe me, happiness is shy,
And comes not aye when sought, man."
before leaping back into bed.
Another man then jumps out of bed, strides up to Charles, and with a face like thunder bawls at him:
"Thou know'st that Thou hast formed me
With passions wild and strong;
And list'ning to their witching voice
Has often led me wrong"
"Good grief, " says Charles to his hosts, "Is this the psychiatric ward?"
"No sir," replies the senior registrar
