Video clip from the 1937 Paris-Nice cycle race

And would it have led to a call for compulsory helmet wearing?Would that be classed as a death on the road or on the railway line if they got the timing wrong ?
Who mentioned helmets? And would it have led to a call for compulsory helmet wearing?
Ive wondered about this - say in the TdeF - do they adjust the trains to the race or is it just tough luck that you get to the barriers and they are closed

Paris-Roubaix 2006 ...
(Fast forward to about 6 m 40 s)
Crazy! (They got DQ'd for it anyway.)
It was George Hincapie and he had apparently unknowingly damaged his bike in an earlier crash - link. He was looking very strong that year so it was really bad luck for him. What happened to the rider about 20s in. It looks like his handlebars came off or broke.
