I took my new bike out for it's first serious run yesterday (Covered the marathon course) as I'm training for the London to Brighton next week. The route involves the cycle path between Tower Hill and Bakers row, passing through Shadwell. I happened to cycle this route four times as I started the run from my office in Bermondsey.

On two occasions whilst in Sheadwell some people attempted to stop me as I was cycling through. The first was a man in his early twenties on his own, the second time it was a three teenagers. It was the usual "excuse me mate, can you stop a second"? approach. Now, I have no idea if they wanted to stop me to say my leggings looked nice or if they admired my riding style.. You get the drift here.

I don't know if there's a history of this happening around there, but if you do ride through there, I'd be vigilant.

Cheers,
Nick
