Thanks Mags

I've been meticulous with record keeping- my grievance document was a 22 page statement with dates and times and I've been keeping a record of subsequent stuff.

I'm really glad you are keeping a record.

When this happened to me I didn't and as a result it was very difficult to show that I had been the victim of persistent bullying almost since day one in the job.

I luckily found another after my manager started making snide remarks to my wife on the train journey to work (we live close to each other) - it showed me that I needed to get out, the situation wasn't going to improve.

Keep it in the day, if you can. Day by day. It's tough but sometimes putting one foot in front of the other is the best response.

Start updating your CV, looking for jobs, maybe an interview or two for practise. I take your point about seeing it through, but a) you will be taking control of what you can change, and xx( you never know...

Serenity prayer...

Always say "Thank you". It makes good people feel better and bad people feel worse. Seriously, your continued professional response will be the best rebuke to a bullying manager.

My best wishes

Do you have a union rep?

Could you get a transfer to another site or work area.

Also April to December is a bit much .The stress must be affecting you .Possibly help on full pay from your Doctor .

Postman - yep I've got a union - officer is involved - I also used to be a shop steward in my last workplace so know employment law quite well.

My sick pay has been exhausted- just a week's pay -wouls only be on statutory sick pay, I'm thinking transfer/redeployment is the option here but am awaiting grievance outcome which is dragging.

My personal 'stress' is being used (or they're trying to) against me. Even an occupational health report in my favour has been twisted around.

They think that they can apply the pressure and I will fold.
They don't know who they're dealing with...idiots -just makes me more determined to nail them to the post.

Hey tt,

Sorry to hear that. Haven't got anything terribly useful to offer except this >

And wasn't it Churchill who said something along the lines of "When you're going through hell, just keep going"..(I'm sure that's not the proper quote, but the sentiment is there..).
I've found that pretty useful at times.

This will pass. There will a time when you'll have forgotten how stressful and unpleasant this time was for you. Just keep going and you'll get there.

Good Luck.

All the best TT. Grievance procedures seem to have been flying around my workplace at the moment.... luckily none have landed at my door but I've seen the effect they are having on certain parties.

Hope all goes well for you.

Keep a log of the achievements you have done too. it helps to remind you about the good work you do and keep yourself in a good place.

Good luck

In the unlikely case that you have a grievance hearing 21st to 23rd (only time I'm around between now and March) and don't already have a friend to accompany you, drop me a PM. I've done this for a couple of people now.

Thanks Ben, that's very kind but I'm off work then Thank God!! - Planning time on the bike!

I had the hearing about three weeks ago - still waiting on an outcome- the timeframes for the organisation's own grievance and disciplinary policy of 15 days has long passed since I launched the grievance at the tail end of October. Having grounds for probably a second grievance due to recent events and if that fails tribunal but that for me a painful last resort.
