So do I.

Trying to find stuff to fit when you're 6' tall and have trouble making 10 1/2 stone dripping wet when clothes are tailored for the three quarters of the population who are officially porkers is a nightmare. And what is the problem tailors have with their tape measures? If it says 33" leg I expect a leg that's 33" long, not 31 from one manufacturer and 34.5" from someone else.

And try and get a decent pair of shoes for under twenty quid these days, it's almost impossible (That complaint didn't get much sympathy from Mrs SJ who pointed out that none of the three pair of cycling shoes I own cost less than £60).
10 1/2, stone at 6ft Smokin Joe, crikey.

I thought I was relatively slight at 6ft & between 12st 12lbs & 13st 2lbs (depending on the day in question) although I have been as high as 14st 10lbs in my Gym Monster days (they're gone).

I too don't get the discrepancies between manufacturers for a given size, lets say 33" waist 33" leg & I often get stuck in no mans land where I can only get 32" or 34" leg jeans, 32's being half mast & 34's meaning I am walking on them & tripping over.

My cycling shoes would be £300 pair if I ever paid RRP, but I managed to bag them for about £170 & £140.

Does anyone think that cycling kit is way over priced ?

I've been like that since I was eighteen and I'm in my early sixties now. My body just does not gain weight though I eat like the proverbial horse. Even in my late teens through my twenties when I did the heavy boozing rite of passage my weight never went up.

We are built how we are built my friend.

Father in law is 6ft 5" & probably weighs less than my 12st 12 lightweight days.

He has a hellish time with clothes.

Tk Maxx yesterday afternoon.

Time taken 1 hour.

Items bought, 3.

2 prs Crosshatch last seasons very casual jeans £16.99 & £19.99

1 Washington Redskins NFL sweater £9 exactly.

Bill £45.98, bargainous.

I love the thrill of the chase in Tk Maxx, (the rummaging through endless rails of poorly organised clobber) it's a bit like reality bargain hunt for threads.

Branded (chain store) can be good too, (don't know if these are restricted to the NW area) but avoid anything made by Sergio Tacchini, it will fall apart with a hard stare soon as you like.

I will never be out of fashion because I've never been in fashion.

Very good choice, the best value shoes on the market in my view - with full
leather lined made-in-Nortqmpton shoes for under £200 - and nerearer £100 if there's a deal on. Unfortunately they have deleted from their range my favourite style - my last ones just clinging on after 6 re-soles.

I favour the rather posher Crockett & Jones these days, but though twice (at least) as expensive, they're not really twice as good. nice though they are. Mine were all "bargains" - slight 2nds of fleabay - but I have been compred with a certain Imelda

+1 Loake shoes are some of the best I've come across in the price range. Excellent fit and proper welted soles. Last ages as well.
