Fab Foodie, I'm impressed that you have the courage to face the High Street. I venture no further than my keyboard for Levis from Amazon and shirts from Cotton Traders. My sole concession is nipping into George at Asda to pick up some of their acrylic sweaters. As you can see, the Style sections of lifestyle mags are entirely wasted on me.

Ah yes, "internet clothes man" the modern equivalent to the "mail order clothes man" of the 60s and 70s.

Yep' that's it for another year (apart from the odd top - up for emergencies).
This year JL. Didn't realise there was a sale on .... Fab!

2 prs JL Chinos for work
1 pr Gant casual/ jeans
2 cotton casualish cotton shirts
1 Ted Baker smart jacket
1 Ted Baker smart shorts
1 pair Loake black lace ups
1 pair vans
1 north face sun hat
1 Barbour quilted jacket

Total time thanks to the utterly brilliant Izzy in Menswear (and a little help from Mrs FF), 1 hour 10 minutes and thanks to the sale and a Discount card a shade under £600.

Happy Bunny, hopefully no more clothes shopping for another year!
I surmise from this that you must be in the habit of going commando?

JL at High Wycombe is hardly the High St. dear chap, purely self contained and out of town. An oasis of middle class retail.
Formerly 'Man at Millets' I felt the need to raise my game with the advancing years .... I'm a regular Beau Brummel now. My £4 Tesco Jeans having just expired after 10 years I felt now was the time to effect a change ....

I drive 'er indores nuts by getting all my clothes off ebay. I absolutely loath shopping, so having everything come to my door at a tenth of the price is a bit of a no-brainer. I buy far better clothes than I ever would at full price too.

Very good choice, the best value shoes on the market in my view - with full
leather lined made-in-Nortqmpton shoes for under £200 - and nerearer £100 if there's a deal on. Unfortunately they have deleted from their range my favourite style - my last ones just clinging on after 6 re-soles.

I favour the rather posher Crockett & Jones these days, but though twice (at least) as expensive, they're not really twice as good. nice though they are. Mine were all "bargains" - slight 2nds of fleabay - but I have been compred with a certain Imelda

I HATE clothes shopping.

So do I.

Trying to find stuff to fit when you're 6' tall and have trouble making 10 1/2 stone dripping wet when clothes are tailored for the three quarters of the population who are officially porkers is a nightmare. And what is the problem tailors have with their tape measures? If it says 33" leg I expect a leg that's 33" long, not 31 from one manufacturer and 34.5" from someone else.

And try and get a decent pair of shoes for under twenty quid these days, it's almost impossible (That complaint didn't get much sympathy from Mrs SJ who pointed out that none of the three pair of cycling shoes I own cost less than £60).
