I'd recommend fitting mudguards if you're planning to use it when the roads are wet in the UK.

If you've literally not ridden for 20 years you may want to think about building up to a every day commute (e.g. 2 days the first couple of weeks, 3 the next and so on).

I have a 7.3 FX Disc. I have done a couple of thousand miles on it since March, pretty much without incident. All I have changed is the saddle to a Brooks and some higher reach handlebars. Just ride it and enjoy.

fear not Pikeman, I did 13.3 miles after a long break the other day and lived.Take it nice and easy enjoy the view(if there is such a thing) if you need to stop then do so. few weeks time you'll have smashed it.^_^
