for somewhere to go for a weekend away in the country later in the year.
i always find these type of things hard to judge as with a city break it's easy. You book a hotel that's central, clean decent and not too mental price wise as you'll not be in it much as you will be out sightseeing during the day and at night for meals etc..
With a country hotel you're pretty much stuck there so here's the issue.
Do I book a really fancy place like Gleneagles for argument sake (although I'm not going there) and just get a standard room or for the same price go for a hotel not so exclusive and expensive and get a really nice room or suite???
The reason being I was just looking at my diary for next year earlier and Mrs Greedo's parents will have passed away 20 years ago this March and would just like to take her away for the weekend after as every year she get's upset and I would imagine she will be a lot worse this year as she was only 17 when it happened.
Any recommendations would be most welcome. Not fussed if Scotland, England or Wales. Not a Celtic Manor type place though.
She's always mentioned Babbington House if anyone knows that but it looks like a pain getting there from Glasgow
