I was researching prostate problems yesterday and thought I'd cheer all the males up by pointing out that if you live to be 85 you have a 90% (that's ninety) chance of prostate problems varying from cancer to just enlarged. That means if you get to 85, forgetting all other illnesses, you only have a 1 in 10 chance of being well!!!!

So my plan to live forever, or die in the attempt, may backfire on me then.

Oh no I think you have every chance of success, just don't expect to be healthy in between...

I think most men with prostate cancer don't have symptoms and die from something else before the prostate becomes a problem?

Yeah, thanks for that

I ruptured myself down below 30 years ago after an accident, the tubing they inserted through my prostate has a lifetime expectancy (in simple terms) of 25 years...so i'm already on borrowed time
Bugger, i've got no chance then.....

They are probably the ones that don't reach 85 years old. There were other stats for other age groups but it was the 90% one that really stuck in my mind.

I've had my prostate checked quite regularly, and it is both smooth and regularly shaped. So there!

If we reach 85, what happens to those or go beyond 100. Of which there will be 10 million of us in time....

Of these 10 million - "Three million are currently aged under 16, 5.5 million are aged between 16 and 50, and 1.3 million are aged between 51 and 65"
