Pre sale??? What's a pre-sale.... that's a contradiction in terms... it's a complete con.

it was members of the official mailing list. it was a surprise to me, a nice one. there were a selected amount of tickets available 2 days before the general sale, you had a code to enter and you could use it once. it was due to the quick sell-out of these that another 7 dates were added.

Never heard of pre-sales before. How did the prices compare Laurence?
Mrs A_T knew nothing about it.

Ah well, pity Kate Bush's promoter chose to organise things they way they have... they've probably wound up far more people than they realise. Their loss, though I doubt they'll be over-bothered!

Let's face it, a tour's a flop these days unless it sells out within half-an-hour.
And somehow they always add on a shitload more dates...

the tickets were the same price. i was surprised when i got the email. i joined the 'fish people' mailing list a couple of years back as a way of hearing (any) news on releases. there was no hint of the live dates before the big announcement, i read about it on the bbc news site first. the email with the pre-sale came the next day.

it's nice when an artist does give the regulars something. r.e.m. always had fan pre-sales for the fan club members and even had special ticket allocations for them (usually the best seats).

Kate Bush can hardly be said to have regulars at her tours, though.
Her record release schedule is almost as frenetic as Kraftwerks...

We had the chance to see her in 1979 at the Manchester Apollo, but went to see Motorhead instead at the Free Trade Hall.
On the way back across the city centre the two groups of fans met and enjoyed a slanging match of who was the better act.
Looking back neither were anything to get so excited about.

It's a subsidiary of Ticket Master -

Basically any 'Official' venue or ticket site holds back a shed load of better tickets - both floor (for those who want to be in the Mosh Pit) & close to stage seating - then introduce them as unsold tickets at inflated prices - often 2 or 3 times face value.

Corporate - corruption im my eyes.

Has anyone done the "Running up the bill" Joke yet?

When the Wuthering Heights single came out it seemed to be played solid for six months and I have not been able to stand it or anything of hers since. Same with Bryan Adams and Everything I Do, still sick of it.

Whatever next - Python will be re-forming to milk the fanatics.

Yanks (some of them are very nice) are often very STUPID.

I worked on Ascension Island when a member of H.M Forces - (incidentally where the moon buggy was tested - Gen).

Groups of our North American friends paid large sums to fly to London, transfer to Brize Norton & fly on a ropey old Tristar to the Island for bird/nature watching.

The island has been featured several times on Attenborough et al nature doc's.

A friend of mine 'when asked' -
"hey man, what are those big domes for" replied -

"Well, you know that the Queen has many Corgis" ? - "That's where they are bred in captivity in special atmospheric chambers" - etc, etc.

Hook line & sinker Mr Doodle Dandy was heard telling his possy about his great find.

I'd love to see Kate, but like Glasto, the feckin' interweb means tickets sell out in 0.0001 nanoseconds.

As much as I am a big fan of KB I wouldn't pay anywhere near what the touts are now offering the tickets at, last time I looked £1400 a ticket.........for that price I would want Elvis and John Lennon backing her, now I would pay very good money to see the original Fleetwood Mac, but sadly they are only touring the US and are not coming over here, and if rumours are to be believed........half the show will be dedicated to JA fame making this an extra special event
