I have never been a fan of them. They taste of nothing and have too many seeds.
I like them, and they are very good for you. The ones I bought from the Co-op this week are from Italy.
I like 'em, but they take up to a fortnight to ripen. My cousin (a professional chef) taught me to eat them like a hard boiled egg: cut the top off, and scoop out the inside with a teaspoon, but they're seldom ripe enough to do that. They are nice when properly ripe. the kiwi gold ones even have no hair so you can eat the skin without feeling like you're munching on a homeless man's beard

I am somewhat concerned that you know what munching on a homeless man's beard actually feels like!!They are nice when properly ripe. the kiwi gold ones even have no hair so you can eat the skin without feeling like you're munching on a homeless man's beard

How did you eat them before you received that advice?

I imagine they have few buyers so landed here. Or maybe it was that short lived trade agreement that got them here. These American sourced ones are much smaller than the previous ones we were getting from a source that I don't recall.
