I'm fluent in mile to km though. Divide by two and add a tenth (ie multiply by .6)
So a mile would become 1609m / 2 = 804.5m + 80.45m = 884.95m = 1km. Proving that 1km = 884.95m. These metric units are weird š«£
P.S. I have always used multiply by 8 and divide by 5 to convert miles to km.
Some ready reckoners though are
10 miles = 16 km
10 km = 6 miles.
From that easy to see that 100 miles = 10 x 16 = 160km and 120km = 12 * 6 = 72 miles etc.
