Holy thread reserection!!!
Wonder how all you guys are getting. I felt a sharp twinge in my knee last November. Thought nothing more of it. But it was there next time I rode and has been there since.
Private physio said MCL sprain - but it hasn't healed as expected. NHS physio gave me some exercises to do - which actually made it worse.
X-ray has shown moderate patellaformal joint arthritis.
Iam a bit gloomy to be honest .
Find a private physio experienced in PF issues if yours isn't. Forget the NHS
Arthritis is incredibly difficult to treat (around the kneecap especially), and also very common in the over 50s. Rest, avoiding triggers for pain, strong and non tight muscles all through the legs, glutes, hips, stretching, sports massage, orthotics can help.
I've got moderate arthritis in both knees, all 3 compartments. Swimming (not breaststroke) good 👍
I find hyaluronic acid jabs +/~ steroid helpful but only available privately at least in England. Help lubricate/reduce inflammation
Voltarol gel good but not advised if you have any sort of heart meds/issues
