Hope the pain subsides and you heal quickly. Not riding for a few weeks is also something that is not nice to endure!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Sorry to hear about this, hope you get better soon.

Looks like I'll be riding solo for the next few weeks but at least your still in one piece,
I got hit and run just before xmas 2 years ago (took his wing mirror off with my elbow) luckily I only
suffered soft tissue injuries.
How many motorists are drinking and driving at this time of year?? bet there's thousands :cursing:
It scares me riding home on the late shift from hospital not knowing if that car you can hear behind you
is being driven by some drunk or drugged up idiot, glad I've only got a 2 mile commute,

GWS! Did either of you get the reg number?

I've broken my elbow - but only a minor crack (no cast - just a sling), and I was back trying to ride my bike far sooner than 10 weeks (it wasn't even 10 days) - ok not any distance but I wanted to get back to the bike. As for the elbow extension mentioned above - I can't extend my right quite as far as my left either.

I hope you didn't have too bad a night, trying to sleep, that was the worst bit I think.

Thanks for the gws messages. I'm already doing my arm extensions after googling above mentioned issues. They hurt, but it's all good, all Internet related material says its so important to start these ASAP after the initial injury. So mtfu and getting on with it.

As for riding the bike, I MAY be able to convince her that mtb-ing is a compromise. My dear lady has already said riding in fields is sensible.

I do understand her anguish, 1 major major (could have been fatal) mtb accident and now this latest not too bad an accident, doesn't look good from her perspective.

Luckily I do like hill walking and have amazing routes literally on my doorstep and have the gear already, on the upside, my family like walking too - a no brainier now I think about it.

get well soon, and dont run before you can walk.

so to speak.

it seems pretty common for wives to worry but to be fair this accident of which you speak was hardly down to your cycling, was it?

This is surely the shitty end of the stick if ever I saw it.

Hope you heal soon and driver can be traced and prosecuted.

Xmas / New Year road riding is so dodgy as there are soooo many more drunks behind the wheel especially late night / early morning riding.

GWS.

Shaun, just read about your accident, best wishes and get well soon. take care and stay safe.

was nearly in an RTA today - police car & ambulance parked up at the bottom of a dip, long downhill with left hand bend in the wet and some idiot starts to overtake me whilst I am in the centre of the lane and realises there an oncoming car, and pulls back in whilst she was alongside me. My swearing got the attention of the police & paramedics who I am certain thought they were about to witness an RTA. All Stuart could do was watch and hope I managed to stop before she side swiped me or I ran into the police car...

Jeez what happened to Merry Christmas, Peace and Goodwill to all, etc, etc. Glad (as you will be too Sat Nav ;)) it was only a nearly

The few drivers I met today, were very courteous except for the BMW driver who despite having a clear straight road decided to buzz my elbow!
