Valve nuts and dustcaps, straight in the bin.
Your rims and pumps contain carp.Valve nuts and dustcaps, straight in the bin.
As the dust cap has to come off before you pump the tyre up that's hardly relevant. And crap inside the rim isn't going to be kept out of the valve by the dustcap.Your rims and pumps contain carp.
The mud on my dust caps are probably on your naked valves, going into your pump when you push it on.As the dust cap has to come off before you pump the tyre up that's hardly relevant.

Sounds fishy to me .......Your rims and pumps contain carp.

The most elegant solution and ironically not vulnerable to blowback because the air doesn't go out through the hole it goes in. If you run them without dustcaps, you can still end up pumping a little water or a clog of carp (don't you love autocorrect?) into your tube, but at least it's not trashing your pump connector head! What brand? I've not seen any smooth stemmed valves for a while (which may be related to me buying cheap tubes).I tend to buy smooth stems that don't have them.
The two I've found are Mitchelin Airstop and Vittoria ultralite. The Vittoria have got removable cores so if you have a screw on pump like a Lezyne you'll need to tighten it first. What brand? I've not seen any smooth stemmed valves for a while (which may be related to me buying cheap tubes).
