I'm not sure about the cult of the personality stuff, although I'm not entirely immune to it myself.
Some footballers throughout time have been or are great to watch but emotionally dubious.
Ronaldo, Maradona etc.
Pidcock tries a bit too hard maybe and doesn't have the personality of Geraint, for instance, but is still box office for me.

Tomorrow’s ITT in Valladolid has been chopped in half. 12.2 km instead of 27

We've seen that Pidcock has upped his mountain game: is the TT not now his blind spot?
If so, that's got to improve his chances of remaining on the podium.
It's obvious that he's not too everyone's tastes but I think the stats underline that he's had a decent year. If you look at how Hirschi's ranking has tanked compared to how Pidcock's has risen, it's clear that he's made a pretty decent fist of dropping down to ProTeam level.

I guess that's near enough the Vuelta over now....can't see the top 5 changing much , TT too short to make any difference.

He's ok ....like a lot of sports personalities has a narrow view of life .. he has some shitty takes . Who doesn't

You're absolutely correct in that regard. I suppose I'm maybe just being hard on the guy. I've just always found there to be something amiss with him. I could never actually explain why.

One bonus of the shortened ITT is Pidders podium speech....can't wait 😁

One guys in our cycling club kids used to race with Toms brother Joe? They were all coached by Giles Pidcock I think it was a case you do exactly as I say or don’t bother but expressed in very Anglo Saxon terms. To a bunch of under 16’s the father felt it was rather hard going.
How this might have impacted on someone’s personality is up to speculation.

It’s always hard to compare non-specialists as they tend to pull out a reasonable TT when in GC contention but take it easy otherwise. However, looking on PCS Hindley and Pidcock seem fairly evenly matched.
