La Vuelta 2026 ***Spoilers***

He had very few actual race days pre-Tour (admittedly most were more intense than your average Tirreno-Adriatico stage) and he rode most of the 2nd half of the Tour at Del Toro's pace rather than his own, so he may well feel he's got a little more in the tank than in previous years.

Also, he's not on any "The Vuelta doesn't go past my house" thread, because it starts at his gaff in Monaco, which pretty much maximises his recuperation between the Tour and Vuelta. A TT, followed by a lumpy one then a hockey stick with a little Cat 3 tagged on the end, then a mountain stage In Andorra - he could have it wrapped up in four stages and use two and a half weeks for training.

I don't know who might ride it. Of those listed on PCS so far, you wouldn't ordinarily give Roglic, Gall, or Carlos Rodriguez much of a chance. Almeida looks the strongest of those currently signed up, and he'd be a level below Pogacar. If it's a similar kind of field to the one Vingegaard supposedly dispatched with ease in the Giro...

I wouldn't completely rule Roglic out. While he looks due a swallow his pride thread, the Vuelta is very much his GT, so he might have a little bit more than he's shown of late

IMO, and I've stated as much elsewhere, Roglic was due that thread for about a couple of years now.
Visma knew what they were doing. Then again, I thought Cav was done before he proved me wrong.

I've not been following the news so this might be rot, but...

Remco? He was absent from racing for a period prior to the Tour so not too weary maybe.

I guess everyone's got an eye on Pog. If he goes, don't bother

No sure about Remco, he's picking up the wins elsewhere at the mo - just won the Criterium Aalst, which will sit nicely on his palmares alongside all this lot. Not sure why PCS haven't updated it yet.

He's also racing the Donostia San Sebastian Klasikoa on Saturday, and then has te Canadian races and the Worlds, where he definitely won't be skipping the ITT

Thin field at Aalst. Thought he might have had to beat of Merlier in a sprint to get the win.

He was probably down to ride for Remco at Donostia and Pellizari in Burgos, so no great loss in Roglic-land.
