Vuelta is 22 Aug - 13 Sept
Mens World ITT is 20 Sept
Mens World Road is 27 Sept
Lombardia is 10 Oct

That gives Pog 3-4 weeks recovery between the Vuelta and the Worlds. 😉

Carlos currently down to lead the team but there's only 3 riders confirmed so wouldn't surprise me.

Both are riding Burgos today, so it will be interesting to see how they fare, head to head.

He may never have a better chance at the Vuelta. Whilst the world’s course looks made for him, it’s not the gimme that 2024 was. Classics guys can certainly challenge there.

If Pog wins the Vuelta, we we will be going into 2027 with not having a new GT winner for 4 years. For context, in the rest of the century, no new GT winner only happened in 2003, 2005, 2016 & 2021. And (I think) it will now have happened for 3 years running.

He's ridden 37 days so far. With the Vuelta, Lombardia and the Worlds, he'd still have just 60, which is roughly what he did in 2024.

I think it is fair to say that he will have ridden more than 37 days.

Nah. He will have enough of a lead after one week that he'll be able to coast/be super domestique for the rest and still win.
