hiya , my Girlfriend has been asked to put together a weight loss programm with the fitness group she works for , she needs real life stories from females that have involved cycling wholly or in part to acheive their targets , either in a group or just went for it under their own steam , ,
If any one has a story , but would rather not put it on the forum for personal reasons if you PM me I will send you her work email ad ,
Cheers

See what cycling has done for me!

Though I posted this a wee while ago, things are still much the same. Gained a wee bit of a christmas pudding however as long as I fit into my Euro size 41 clothes, ( I find this sizing more consistant than Uk's sizing) life is good. For me it was the unconcious eating. Now if I'm not genuinaly hungry I dont eat.
My kick start was that my chasis was screaming with agony. I could hardly get down the stairs in the morning as my back was so painful. Pain is also a great motivator. The physio said that for every extra stone of weight carried puts 4 stone onto your spine.
My average speed back then I think was about 8mph say over 50 miles, on a good day now I can reach 14.6ish. No bad for a fifty something who only took up cycling 6 years ago.
