Ladies cycle clothing, high visibility, and skorts, where to buy?

I cycle on narrow hill and mountain roads where car drivers don't have much time to see and react to a cyclist, probably in the middle of the road avoiding the potholes at the edge, while they themselves are busy taking in the stunning views. In summer, temperatures reach thirty degrees, and the climbs can be long. So I need layers of cool clothing, with pockets and with great visibility: bright colours and graphic designs that catch the eye.

But all too often when I look for ladies cycle clothing, I find high visibility clothing is always 'warm and waterproof', anything cool and lightweight is in white (not good after several washes!) or some sickly pink flowery design and deep rear pockets are few and far between.

I also hate padded shorts, with a vengeance: they rub, they're sweaty, they're ugly. I far prefer 'skorts', running skirts with built-in boy shorts, which look good and keep the sun off the critical top few inches of the thigh. But even harder to find in a good quality light wicking fabric and eye catching colour, most are black or again, Barbie doll pink.

It's not easy to browse stores living where I do, I have to buy online but cannot feel the quality first:sad: A lot of online retailers hype up their products so much it's hardly possible to make informed choices: Wiggle, for instance, are so busy claiming everything is the best, it's just impossible. Can anyone advise of online stores that may sell the kind of clothing I'm looking for?

Here for rides.
Welcome. You live in a part of the world where the drivers are saints, in my experience, and treat cyclists very well, compared with the ones we have in Blighty.

In addition to the excellent list of gear supplied by @vickster you might consider running tops and team jerseys.
