One of the only romantic things I've ever done was fish a bunch of tulips out of the canal and present them to my then girlfriend when we were on holiday on the narrowboat I used to live on. Well, she said it was the most romantic thing I'd ever done anyway.

Mods, can you please investigate this thread?

I think a kind, caring and sensitive person has hijacked Blazed's account and is posting in his name.

Patience CP my dear, patience.....It didnt take long for the mask to slip on Campfire's logging in thread, but he's oviously been perfecting the art as he's keeping it up well this time...but you know it will happen.......

I wouldn't really want someone spending £40 on flowers for me ... for that sort of price I would prefer the money to be spent on plants for the garden or something else.

Well my average night out costs around £200 when you add up taxis, drink and food so £40 on some flowers doesnt seem like a lot. And im not sure shes into planting stuff in her garden, unless garden is a euphemism for snatch.

Normality is returned and all is well with the world. xx(

I know it's a cliche but I really love roses, particularly yellow ones for some reason. I also love freesias and BIG pink lilies that smell so good. I don't like these modern flowers, exotic type ones that aren't actually flowers!! And peonies in seasons. And ranunculus.

But not chrysanthemums or carnations. No!!

I find that the scent of lilies can be overpowering. But saying that, I do prefer flowers with a scent, but these are so rare to buy these days. Even freesias, which used to be wonderfully scented, seem to be not so these days when bought as a cut flower. My favourite flowers are scented pink roses. My wedding bouquet was entirely of scented pink roses. That said, if someone has gone to the trouble to buy me flowers, I will always accept with genuine joy, as it really is the thought that counts. Mind you - if the bunch turns out to comprises of wilting weeds, then they are likely to find them wrapped around their noggin

The flowers will arrive this evening. Along with a note:

You are the perfect woman
You dont fart like a trumpet
But release it gently like a sigh
