haha I’m a coward going down, I will have the brake blocks burnt through and the callipers digging into the wheel rims before I get to the bottom.
TBH me too. I set a limit of 25 mph. After reading about and witnessing a high speed crash its not for me.
BTW we had a lake Annecy holiday planned a few years ago but circumstances made us cancell.

The way to do Semnoz is to ride to Annecy railway station, put your bike on the special bus to Semnoz and then ride down!!
What are good (better than Semnoz) climbs are from either direction to the Col de la Forclaz above Angon on the other side of the lake.

Well last day and last cycle ride, it’s absolutely fantastic here I can’t recommend it enough, I’m already saying we should return here next year as the area is beautiful.
I have had no issues on any rides all the motorists are very tolerant of cyclists.
Only issue I have seen was while in the car, some loon on a small twisty mountain road overtook myself and 5 other cars, doing well over the speed limit and not safe for that road, he almost hit a pedestrian on a crossing, the brake lights flashed and the hazards came on, but karma was in full effect as it was a traffic cop! oops.
All in all I have loved this area and I’m totally envious of the fantastic infostructure.
