Its like banning Eric Clapton or the Rolling Stones from playing music beacause they took drugs and makes about as much sense. I don't actually believe Armstrong did take drugs and I think his response to this is extremely mature and dignified. Some people just simply resent the success of others.
Well that's my hap'orth.

Really, no really?!?

I'm enjoying reading these responses. I'm not taking the piss either. I'm not going to be critical of anyone for believing in what they believe, whether I share that belief or not. Armstrong did move and motivate people, that much is clear and I can respect that.

I think lejogger's post illustrates perfectly the nature of the situation for many people. I may not be one of those people but I can empathise.

I've skimmed it. he has tested, retested and tested again until he found a tiny trace of a hormone. If you test for something often enough you'll find it. In any event who hangs on to samples of piss for six years. I'm still not impressed by these allegations.
Like I said some people just resent success.

I'm off to tea at the end of my garden with the fairies. Should be good, apparently Elvis and the clangers are coming, the latter are turning up on their unicorns.

Definitely the post of the year. Completely ridiculous on so many different levels....

On this issue the only opinion I care about is my own. As far as I'm concerned the subject (for me at least) is closed.

you're comparing the use of recreational drugs by rock stars to the use of performance enhancing drugs by professional athletes - can you not see how completely **** ridiculous that is..??

I'd be very much in favour of that.

His decision not to fight the charges seems to be working. This was posted on another (non-cycling) website, where most people haven't followed the story, and the general opinion seems to be one of sympathy for Lance during this "witch hunt."
