Not long back from a fabulous cycle around Lough Neagh. The "Lap the Lough" event wasnt as hard as I thought it was going to be, but its probably down to the fact I put a lot of training in and knew what foods to eat etc.
The other guys with me werent as well prepared and as such we fell back a little towards the end. We did it in around 6 hours and are very proud of ourselves. Very proud given that we had to cycle in some of the worst rain I have ever experienced.
So just to put it in perspective. A cycle around Lough Neagh - 89 miles and in around the six hour mark.
THINK I SAW A CYCLE CHAT RIDER!
Wasnt able to mix it up with one of our brethern and am apologetic for it. I saw a tall guy with what appeared to be an ear ring in his left ear from afar, wearing a cycle chat pink type jersey. That one of you guys that was posting on of the earlier threads?
A very well run event and hats off to the organisers.
Sadly though I have just discovered by logging onto the website lapthelough.org that one of the cyclists tragically took a heart attack shortly before the finish.
It saddened me a lot and my thoughts are with the family...
