Hi all, currently got a boardman cx comp which has brake levers on bars as well as drops.
I really like this set up but am finding the bike a bit heavy, so I am considering one of the giant defy road bikes. However I would like brake levers on the bars too if possible.
Does anyone know if this is possible, if so how much am I looking at for parts etc. Or am I better off getting lbs to do the work.
Cheers John.

They are in-line brakes all you do is cut the outer sleeve of the brake cable put the brake lever on and pass the inner cable between the two all very easy to do

That's great. I imagined having to buy new cables with funny adaptors etc. Cheers for that.

They never did have them on the Defy, just the Avail for the girlies

Easy enough to retro fit, however you do lose quite a lot of handlebar real estate which can be an issue, if like me, you run a narrow bar

Get the Giant dealer to sort when you buy the bike, should cost less. You'll need the bars rewrapped too (stock tape is often a bit crap anyhow)
