Lea Valley to Stansted Airport?

You can cycle to the airport from Stanstead Mountfitch, equally its not to far to cycle from Bishops Stortford, point I was trying to make is the limited service to the airport by trains which take cycles

I didn't realise you couldn't take bikes on the Stansted Express. I've done so in ignorance a couple of times now, although knowing it now I wouldn't like to risk it outwards at least and miss a flight.

I thought you could cycle from Stansted Montfitchet. (Or at least I assumed you could cycle from Stansted Montfitchet).

Multimap shows a church road leading over the motorway before joining Bury Lodge Lane which then joins Belmer Road which skirts the airport.

I tried this a couple of weeks back and sure enough you can follow the Church Road across (a fair number of local taxis seem to use it as a rat run). However where it ends at the roundabout I couldn't find the "Long Border Road" which takes you around the side and ended up following the dual carriadgeway in.
