If it's a bit too hot to shoplift you can eat stuff as you walk round.
Works for me! How do you know you are going to like it until you try it? They don't like you using can opener's though.

June , last year my wife and were living separately for reason of no importance to this thread except for some reason we challenged ourselves to live on three pounds a day each food wise.
Seriously? Without going last thing at night to the supermarkets, I could probably do it for £1.50!

The rules were.
Whatever we had in the cupboards already could be used up and didn't come out of the budget.
Without leaving the house freezer cupboards and pantry a year. Garden might extend it 2 months

If ate at friends/family that was a bonus.
Timing is all important. Arrive before they sit down for a meal. That way they have to embarrasses themselves by asking you to leave. Once they start doing that arrive after they have finished and get the left over's. The bigger the family the better. Kids can be fussy eaters you never know what they will refuse to eat from one day to the next.

We were aloud to except free gifts, like eggs, cakes etc.
So you called in all the favours you were owed
I do the same repeatedly!
No booze.
Now it is getting hard.

No cheating.
Why would you need to, easy peasy...apart from the beer

It's was a challenge but we did it.
We won't be doing it again. Ever.
Really? The challenge is getting your neighbours to believe you have nothing to do with the disappearance of their cat.

It might be the wrong time of year, but if you are out in the country look out for farmers feeding swedes or neeps to their sheep, if you get in quickly you might get one with very few teeth marks.
They are not the same as the ones you get in the shop. A lot less flavour. Free does improve the flavour a bit.

I had to help eldest son shop for a week on £15- 20 a week when he was out of work, and he survived on a fiver when he was sanctioned indefinitely. Until I found out he was having to literally beg for leftovers and stocked his cupboards for him!
But, if I had to, I could eat for a tenner a week.
Google a girl called jack, she's a budget food blogger.
Stock up on pasta, pulses, rice etc. Scour the reduced aisle. Go late evening or Sunday before closing for marked down items.
Learn to make soup and cook in advance then freeze things.
